Conexus launches tender for upgrading aboveground storage facilities
The single operator of the natural gas transmission and storage system Conexus Baltic Grid AS (hereinafter - Conexus) has announced a tender for the upgrade of the above-ground facilities, including the reconstruction of gas gathering point No.3 at the Inčukalns underground gas storage (UGS).
The procurement is being carried out as part of the Inčukalns UGS modernisation project, which is planned to be completed by 30 August 2025 by dismantling the existing Inčukalns UGS gas gathering point No 3 with 30 process lines. In its place, a new gas collection point is to be built, including 34 process lines with a maximum working pressure of 105 bar, as well as specially designed separators to purify the gas flow.
The tender documentation is available at Elektroniskajā iepirkumu sistēmā.
Conexus has been implementing a project of common European interest since 2018 to modernise Inčukalns UGS, a critical natural gas infrastructure not only in Latvia, but also in the Baltic region and Finland. The total project financing amounts to €88 million, of which 50% is European co-financing.
The European Union projects are implemented under contracts with the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency.
