Conexus launches a tender for the installation of a biomethane injection point in Džūkste
The unified operator of the natural gas transmission and storage system JSC Conexus Baltic Grid (Conexus) has announced an open negotiation procedure for the construction works of a renewable gas injection point into the gas supply transmission system in Džūkste, Tukums municipality.
To promote renewable energy sources Conexus has launched a project to develop a biomethane injection point in Džūkste. The design, manufacture and supply of the necessary equipment for the biomethane injection point is currently underway. Once constructed, the biomethane injection point will operate in automatic mode providing pressure relief, gas preheating, injection into the pipeline system, as well as metering and gas quality control of the gas transported.
The announced tender covers the works necessary for the installation of the equipment and the construction of the related infrastructure. The procurement covers the design and construction of the biomethane injection point site, including the design and construction of the access road, fence, lighting and security/access system, as well as the installation of the injection point itself and its connection to the main gas pipeline.
Tenderers have until the 2nd of September this year to submit their tenders for the design and construction work.
Biomethane is an important source of renewable energy, produced from organic waste and agricultural by-products. By integrating biomethane into the gas transmission system Conexus will not only promote the use of green energy but also support sustainable development goals and more efficient use of local resources.
