Conexus launches open tender for supply of pipes and other materials

In continuation of the Latvia-Lithuania gas interconnection improvement project, the single operator of the natural gas transmission and storage system Conexus Baltic Grid AS (hereinafter - Conexus) has announced a tender for the supply of pipes and other materials for construction purposes.

The open tender is part of the European Union project of common interest "Improving the Latvia-Lithuania Interconnection" (ELLI). Conexus is implementing the project together with Amber Grid, the Lithuanian natural gas transmission system operator. Its objectives are to increase transmission capacity in both directions by around two times to meet regional gas market demand and guarantee security of gas supply at interconnectors, as well as to ensure sufficient capacity for natural gas flows throughout the Baltic natural gas system.

The current tender foresees the supply of pipes, fittings, shut-off valves and other materials to ensure the successful execution of the construction works planned for 2022 on two construction projects of common interest - the transmission pipeline branch to the Baldone gas regulation station and the reconstruction of the Daugmale gas regulation station.

Tenderers have until 16 December 2021 to submit their tender. The tender documentation can be consulted in the Electronic Procurement System (EPS) and on the Conexus website https://www.conexus.lv/iepirkumi

The Latvia-Lithuania Interconnection Improvement (ELLI) project is co-financed by 50% from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2023.
