Bundled capacity at Kiemenai interconnection point
On 4 August 2022, the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission with the decision No 120, coordinated the new version of the Common Regulation for the Use of Natural Gas Transmission System (further – Rules), which will come into force on 1 September 2022.
Amendments to the Rules are aimed at improving gas flows at the Kiemenai IP, providing for a single procedure for booking capacity at the Kiemenai IP and reducing the administrative burden for natural gas transmission system users.
Changes to the rules will enable bundled capacity product allocation procedure at the Kiemenai IP, where daily and within day capacity products will allocated with implicit capacity allocation and applying First Come First Served principle, while year, quarterly and monthly capacity products are allocated applying PRO-RATA principle.
Bundling of the capacity at the Kiemenai IP is intended for introduction of the single capacity booking procedure, which will be organised by Latvian transmission system operator AS “Conexus Baltic Grid”, also introducing unified capacity allocation calendar.
