Inčukalns PGK filling reaches 17.3 TWh; natural gas injection
The Unified Transmission and Storage System Operator of Natural Gas JSC Conexus Baltic Grid (Conexus) informs that as of 8 October 17.3 TWh of natural gas was stored in the Inčukalns underground gas storage facility.
The natural gas injection season will continue for another week, and the 2021/2022 natural gas injection volumes are already higher than in the 2017-2019 storage cycles.
Uldis Bariss, Chairman of the Board of Conexus, says: "Despite the negative volatility of energy prices, the volume of natural gas stored in storage is on a par with other years, which significantly improves the security of Latvia's gas supply compared to the situation in the EU as a whole."
The natural gas injection season will continue until 14 October, with the withdrawal season starting on 15 October.
